About us

We are a group of concerned parents, grandparents, carers and teaching staff from across Scotland, campaigning peacefully to promote, protect and restore the human rights and wellbeing of our children in the face of ongoing Covid restrictions in schools.

We are ordinary people from all walks of life and with a range of views. But we are all united in the belief that the ongoing Covid ‘mitigations’ in schools place a disproportionate, unfair and unjust burden on Scotland’s young people (particularly high school students), in the light of the wider easing of restrictions and return to greater normality across Scottish society.

We are especially concerned about the ongoing requirement for face masks in secondary school classrooms, with children expected to wear them even while seated for up to six hours a day. We believe the potentially negative impacts on learning, teaching and children’s health and wellbeing have been downplayed by the Scottish Government, with members of the teaching profession afraid to speak out and challenge the narrative.

We stand for informed choice, children’s rights and common sense.

We, as a group, are not:

  • We are not Covid deniers, and have heartfelt sympathy for those whose lives and loved ones have been affected by the virus.
  • As a campaign we are not anti-vaccine per se. Individual members have their own views on this, which is not within the remit of our campaign.  However, we do stand against coercion. We believe children and their families should be free to make their own informed choice on vaccination, without pressure or threat of continued restrictions.

Our vision and aims:

#nomasksinclass

#normalschoolnow

Our vision is for an immediate, full return to normal school, so that children can fully engage and interact with learning without the impediment of mandatory facemasks, and so that parents can return to participating in school life in person.

We demand that Ministers and the Scottish Government urgently revise the Covid-19 guidance for schools, to bring it in line with the easing of Covid restrictions across Scottish society. Especially since cases continue to drop as the school year progresses.

We also demand that Ministers, elected representatives and the Scottish Government acknowledge the negative impact and potential harms of continued Covid mitigations, especially full-time face masks in secondary classrooms. Our enquiries have revealed that no risk assessments have been done by schools and local authorities.

Finally, we demand all stakeholders work together to root out overzealous implementation of this non-statutory guidance within some schools and local authorities.
